Qazigund, Jan 19: In an effort to establish a harmonious connection with the local community, the 46th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted five medical camps across various villages in Qazigund. The fifth camp was held at the 46th Battalion CRPF Headquarters at Sadura Anantnag on Friday.
According to Syamal Bhowmik, Commandant CRPF 46th Bn, during these camps, the CRPF provided free medical check-ups and distributed medicines to benefit over 1200 patients.
The camp was inaugurated by Syamal Bhowmik, Commandant (CCD) CRPF 46 battalion Sadura, in the presence of R N Singh Deputy Commandant 46Bn CRPF and other officers of the unit.
The Commandant said CRPF’s mission is to go to the doorsteps of needy people. In order to have a good symbiotic atmosphere between the locals and security personnel.
“We are for the best interest of common people. We want to have well coordination and help the needy in whatever way we can. The free medical camp is providing them medical check-ups, consultation, and free medicines,” he said.
He said that they have received a positive response from people and were urged to hold more such programs. “We want to reduce the gap between citizens and CRPF and stand with them in thick and thin. The program is held under the civic action program.”
He added that on Friday, the medical camp was attended by 250 locals from Sadura and adjoining areas. This camp marks the fifth medical camp organized by the unit in the last week at different spots like Akhran, Mirbazar, Vessu, KP Colony Vessu, and followed at Sadura. In these camps, over 1250 local people got benefited.
A local from the adjacent village who had come here said, “We received free medical check-ups and medicines. Such camps should be held on a regular basis. We express our gratitude to 46th Bn CRPF and their officers for such endeavors,” he said.
