Leh, Oct 18: Four tourists were killed after their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at o a deep gorge at Khardungla pass on Wednesday, police said.
Police said due to fresh snowfall in Khardangla pass of Ladakh, a private vehicle (Jeep) was traveling skidded off the road and fell into a 150 feet deep gorge due to which four tourists riding in it were severely injured.
Station House Officer, Nubra, Stenzin said that the condition of the road had become slippery due to fresh snowfall. “Efforts are on to trace the vehicle,” he said.
He also said that all four bodies were airlifted to their native states.
They have been identified as Muhammad Feroz, Reyaz Ahmed and Azam Khan, all residents of New Delhi and Zeeshan Toufeeq of Muradabad UP.
Meanwhile, police have registered an FIR vide number 18/22 under sections 379, 337, and 304A and further investigation has been taken up.
