Baramulla, July 16: In its ongoing campaign against drug peddling, Sopore Police on Sunday apprehended four individuals and seized psychotropic substances from their possession.
A police official said that a team of police officials from Police Station Tarzoo, during their checkpoint duty at the Amargarh railway crossing, intercepted four individuals who were behaving suspiciously in an attempt to evade the police party.
Upon conducting a personal search, a total of 984 tablets of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus were discovered in their possession.
The arrested individuals were identified as Zubair Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Muhammad, a resident of Badambagh Sopore; Junaid Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Neharpora Sopore; Muhammad Asif Mir, son of Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of Shalpora Sopore; and Rouf Ahmad Chopan, son of Muhammad Subhan, a resident of Lolab Kupwara.
Police said that in connection with this incident, a case (FIR No. 61/2023) has been registered under the appropriate sections of the law at Police Station Tarzoo, and an investigation has been initiated.
