Srinagar, Mar 22: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is going to conduct its 36th Convocation on 3rd April 2023. The main venue for the convocation is IGNOU HQs at New Delhi. The programme will be telecast live on GyanDarshan, Swayam Prabha, Doordarshan, webcast through IGNOU website and through social media platforms of the University.
The 36th Convocation function will also be organized in Srinagar by the IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar for the Learners of the Kashmir and Ladakh region. All the Learners who have completed their programme in the Term End Examination December 2021 and June 2022 and have registered for receiving their degree personally will receive their degree during the event at Srinagar which is going to be held at Gandhi Bhawan, University of Kashmir Hazratbal Srinagar.
The university is also going to distribute degrees through the Blockchain Technology. Blockchain-supported distribution of degrees will ensure faster submission of degrees through the DigiLocker, informed Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar, the Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar.
Dr. Shahnawaz also informed that the last date of fresh admission for all the programmes (except certificate and semester-basedprogrammes) offered in ODL and Online mode by IGNOU for January 2023 session has been extended till 27th March 2023. The prospective students can refer to the e-prospectus 2023 of IGNOU for the complete details regarding all the programmes.
NSD’s workshop on acting, direction concludes in Srinagar
Srinagar, 22 Mar: Acting, direction workshop which was organised by the National School of Drama, Srinagar Centre in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages concluded here on Wednesday.
Supervised by NSD’s Centre incharge, Prof. Santanu Bose classes were conducted during the 12 days workshop on various aspects of theatre acting and direction under the guidance of experts like Dipankar Paul, YeshrajJhadav, and Sandeep Bhattachary; all of whom were from the NSD.
A play – Macbeth by Shakespeare – was also performed on the concluding day today, which was followed by award of certificates to participants of the workshop.
The initiative of the NSD’s Theatre-in-Education Centre in Srinagar was aimed at giving exposure to theatre artistes in the Kashmir Valley to industry standards on acting and direction skills.
According to officials of the NSD, the workshop would help the artistes of the valley in getting breakthrough roles on different stages and platforms.
