Srinagar, Feb 27: On the theme of the G20, World NGO Day was celebrated at Environmental Hall Handwara, in which 35 NGOs from various parts of the valley participated.
As per the organizers “NGOs Conclave” is a platform to bring together various NGOs to engage in meaningful discussions aimed at addressing the pressing social and economic challenges faced by Kashmir 2023 NGO CONCLAVE.”
The first ever convention in Kashmir was organised at the Environmental Hall, Handwara, under Army Camp Bhagatpura in collaboration with the Centre for Research on Public Policy (CRPP) to provide a unique opportunity for NGOs to network, exchange ideas and best practices, forge partnerships, and help them have a greater impact in the region.
The conclave brought together various community leaders and government officials, including Nazir Ah Mir, ADC Handwara, Suleiman Mir, DDC Rajwar, Mashroor Bandey, and Municipal Chairman Handwara, as well as youth leaders, representatives from the district hospital and public banks, principals and teachers from schools and colleges, sarpanch and ward members, and members of the local population.
As many as 35 NGOs from Kashmir attended the conclave. The NGO owners said there were certain advantages that included Bringing together NGOs working in different sectors and promoting cross-sector collaboration building partnerships with other organizations, governments, and stakeholders.
The NGO Conclave was aimed at strengthening the role of NGOs in promoting positive change in communities and advancing sustainable development. The outcome of the conclave was a set of recommendations or action plans for initiatives to tackle social, economic, and environmental issues and collaboration among participating NGOs.
