32 bags of rice seized in misappropriation case in Budgam; four arrested: Police

Police in Budgam have seized 32 bags of rice in misappropriation case and arrested 04 accused persons involved in the commission of crime.

 

A spokesman said, “Police station Khag received a reliable information that the staff of Government Middle School Shunglipora Khag has misappropriated rice issued by Government meant for mid-day meals for children/students of the school. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 60/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was set into motion.”

 

“During the course of investigation, 32 bags (about 15 quintals) of misappropriated rice bags were seized from outside the school premises and some records related to the issuance of ration and its use have also been seized. During the investigation, 04 accused persons (staff members) involved in the commission of crime were arrested in the instant case. They have been identified as Ashraf Ali Sheikh son of Ali Mohd Sheikh resident of Shunglipora (I/C Mid-day meals) BMS Shunglipora, Ishfaq Ahmad Shah son of Peer Gh Hassan Shah resident of Sugen Khag (Headmaster Middle School Shunglipora), Abdul Qayoom Malik son of Sattar Malik resident of Shunglipora (I/C Mid-day meals Primary School Shunglipora-B) and Abdul Rashid Malik son of Gh Qadir Malik resident of Shunglipora (I/C Mid-day Meals Primary school Gilball)”, he said.

 

The spokesman said that Flfurther investigation into the case is going on.
