JAMMU, July 29: In a tragic accident near Khuga Morh in the Akhnoor area of Jammu today, 31 persons were injured when a minibus overturned and skidded off the road around 8:30 AM. The minibus, traveling from Maira Mandrian to Akhnoor, was reportedly overloaded. Immediate assistance was provided by nearby Army units, local residents, and police, who transported the injured to Akhnoor Hospital.
Out of the 31 injured, 13 were critically hurt and were later transferred to GMC-Jammu for advanced treatment.
The Army, which had its units nearby, rushed to the spot immediately and with the help of locals and Police, the injured were shifted to Akhnoor Hospital.
“All the 31 injured were shifted to Akhnoor Hospital from where 13 critically injured were referred to GMC-Jammu for advanced treatment,” Block Medical Officer (BMO), Dr Mohd Saleem informed Rising Kashmir.
Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal of GMC-Jammu, reported that all the injured are currently stable and responding to treatment.
The injured have been identified as Ram Saroop (45), Priya Basant (24), Mala (38), Naresh Kumar (40), Kanchan (25), Brij Lal (60), Deepika (24), Susheel Khanotra, Aradhna Sharma (16), Mansi Sharma (16), Mukti Sharma (21), Arun Kumar (24), Vasu Sharma (15), Uplaksh Sharma (17), Isha Basant (20), Sumit Kumar (26), Anil Kumar (25), Sunil Sharma (23), Rupanshi Sharma (16), Nek Ram (45), Kunj Lal (50), Leela Devi, Chuni Lal, Sunil Sharma (22), Hem Raj (60), Meenakshi, Viki Sharma (39), Mela Ram (44), Ashok (45), Jameel Ahmed (19), and Om Parkash (53).
