Bandipora, Nov 22: The district administration Bandipora on Tuesday retrieved 300 kanals of encroached land in Kehnusa village during a special encroachment drive.
An official told Rising Kashmir that the teams deputed for the drive axed many trees and freed around 300 kanals of land from illegal encroachment. He said that a time-bound roster will be devised for such drives to retrieve the encroached state and kachcharie land.
The officers have been asked to update land records and keep vigil on state lands to avoid future encroachments, he said, adding that the drive was conducted after the field reports of revenue officials. Tehsildar Aloosa Javid Ahmed, Field Officers and Naib Tehsildar were present in the squad.
Commenting on the drive, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad said such drives shall continue till all land is retrieved from encroachers.
He appealed to the general public to cooperate and support to curb the menace of encroachment. The general public of the area who were present during the drive appreciated the efforts of the district administration in conducting these drives.
