Lebanon, March 28: Three Lebanese journalists were killed in an Israeli air strike on their clearly marked press vehicle in southern Lebanon on Saturday.
"The victims were Fatima Ftouni and her brother Mohammed, of Al Mayadeen, and Ali Shuaib of Al-Manar," Aljazeera reports.
According to Al Mayadeen, four precision missiles hit the vehicle on Jezzine Road, wounding other journalists and killing a paramedic. Al Jazeera reported that the journalists were targeted while doing their job, and their deaths have been condemned by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun as a "blatant crime".
As per the Aljazeera reports, The Israeli military claimed that Ali Shuaib was embedded within a Hezbollah intelligence unit. Al-Manar, his employer, described him as a prominent war correspondent who had covered Israeli attacks on Lebanon for decades.
