Doda, Sept 30: The 24th meeting under the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) mechanism was held on Monday in the meeting hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Doda, under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Harvinder Singh.
SSP Doda, Mohd Aslam, served as the convener of the meeting. The agenda focused on critical issues such as illicit crop cultivation, identification of drug abuse hotspots, and the declaration of ‘Nasha Mukt Panchayats’ across the district.
Strict vigilance was emphasized on all identified drug abuse hotspots, with instructions to intensify efforts to curb drug-related activities in these areas.
Furthermore, the District Magistrate directed the officers to enforce stringent measures to prevent the cultivation of illicit crops within the district’s jurisdiction, whether on wild or agricultural land.
Officers were urged to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, particularly among the youth, through community engagement and educational initiatives.
The meeting was attended by ADC Doda, ACR Doda, SDMs, ACD/ACP, Tehsildars, and other concerned departments, with some officials participating through online mode, reflecting a comprehensive approach to tackling the drug menace in the district.
