Jammu, May 17: On the directions of the party high command, the J&K BJP has chalked out a month-long mass contact-cum-awareness programme to reach out to the people ahead of the 2024 Parliamentary elections, a senior party leader said.
This month-long programme will begin on May 30, coinciding with the completion of nine years of the BJP-led government the Centre headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The party workers and leaders will reach out to the people highlighting the achievements and welfare schemes of the Modi government,” BJP Secretary Dr Pardeep Mahotra told Rising Kashmir.
He said the party’s high command will soon provide them with the complete in-depth details of the achievements of the BJP-led government as also the details of the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.
In the BJP’s Working Committee meeting held on Wednesday at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, the BJP J&K UT president Ravinder Raina also announced that the party would soon launch ‘Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyaan’ in J&K from May 30 to June 30.
For this mass contact-cum-awareness programme, eight to ten teams will be constituted both at district and mandal levels.
The state-level team has already been constituted which is headed by former minister and BJP General Secretary Dr Devendra Manyal. There are seven members of the state-level committee.
“Public rallies, nukkad meetings, door-to-door campaigns, awareness programmes and some other events are being worked out by the party, and the names of the district and mandal level teams would soon be finalized,” Mahotra said.
BJP National General Secretary and Prabhari J&K, Tarun Chugh, also addressed the party leaders in the Working Committee through virtual mode.
He said the nine years of Modi-led government have seen India rising and cementing its position as “one of the strongest and most resilient countries in the world”. “India is now steadily embarking on the path to becoming a superpower,” Chugh said. He asked all the party leaders to ensure the reach of these achievements to the masses in the coming days.
Union minister Dr Jitendra Singh asked the party workers to raise their bar of public service and work to accomplish the goal envisioned by “hard-working” Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
