Ganderbal,Dec 22: Demonstrating her unwavering commitment to improving public welfare, District Development Council (DDC) Kangan member, Tasmeena Adil Kapra, inaugurated a newly installed 200 KV electricity transformer in Satrina, Kangan, funded through her DDC Fund.
The residents of Satrina, who had long endured hardships due to frequent transformer failures, expressed their gratitude to DDC Kangan for addressing their long-standing issues. They lauded her for fulfilling the promise she had made during the Assembly elections when she, alongside MLA Kangan, Mian Mehr Ali, assured the installation of a new transformer to resolve the area’s electricity challenges.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir Tasmeena Kapra highlighted her commitment to alleviating the difficulties faced by the people, particularly in areas lacking basic facilities. “This 200 KV transformer will significantly improve the electricity supply in Satrina, especially during harsh winters,” she stated.
Local residents shared their relief, noting that the previous transformer often malfunctioned, plunging the area into darkness and causing severe inconveniences. “We brought the issue to the attention of DDC Tasmeena Adil Kapra, and she acted immediately, allocating funds to resolve the problem. We now look forward to improved power supply,” a resident said.
This initiative adds to DDC Kangan’s extensive efforts to enhance infrastructure in the region. Over two dozen old transformers have been replaced with new ones in various localities under her leadership, a feat that has garnered widespread appreciation.
