2-day Surinsar -Mansar Festival concludes with variety cultural show

Jammu, Sep 19: The 2-Day Surinsar-Mansar Festival concluded at Mansar with a special rendition of local cultural performances and celebrity Musical performance, the other day.
Director Tourism Jammu, Vivekanand Rai was the chief guest at the valedictory function.
Mansar Lake, laced with hills and engulfed in forests, came into limelight once again when a cultural extravaganza was organised by the Tourism Department, J&K and SurinsarMansar Authority. The highlights of the event included Musical Performances, amazing food, open MIC performances, Blogger meet, MTB rally and nature walk. The festival was inaugurated by Chief Secretary of J&K, UT Dr A K Mehta at Surinsar on September 17, 2022 and the day 2 activities were held   on the shores of Mansar Lake. The festival full of excitement, fun, adventure, entertainment, melodies, delicious food and a beautiful backdrop left visitors awestruck.
Speaking to the media, the Director Tourism, Jammu said that the festival is an elaborate effort of the tourism Department to put Mansar Lake on the Traveller itinerary and must visit list. The whole idea is to popularise Jammu as a steller tourist destination.
          The celebration started with the fun filled adventure activity i.e mountain terrain biking from Surinsar to Mansar which was flagged off by Bodh Raj Sarpanch Surinsar .Over 20 participants joined the bike Rally which transversed the beautiful Surinsar to Mansar route and were flagged in by Dr Gurvinder Jit Singh CEO,SMDA at Mansar.
A painting competition was also held at Mansar where Miss Shivani and Miss Shakti , brought various Tourist destinations live on Canvas adding to everyone’s delight.
      In the evening, an open MIC was held. The acts varied between poems, songs and magic where budding artists showcased their talent.Also Bloggers Meet was held in the evening wherein an informal discussion with the famous bloggers was held by Sunaina Sharma Mehta, Joint Director Tourism Jammu. She announced that a photography competition ” Sabse Bada Ghumakkar” shall be held  which shall be open to all and anyone can get registered this week to get the entries of photographs clicked by them from across all the ten districts of Jammu division highlighting the scenic beauty of the area alongwith a description of 5o words with Directorate of Tourism Jammu, rules/regulations of  which shall be advertised later. After screening by an expert panel,the best three entries shall be rewarded on World Tourism Day which is to be celebrated on 27 September. Later in the evening a scintillating cultural programme was held which included high energy performances by Rinku Ji, Karan Menia, Police Rapper, Dheeraj Kumar, Shumalini Goswami etc. However, the main highlights of the events was the energetic performance by famous Singer Dilpreet Dhillon. The various Performances cheered the audience who appreciated the efforts of the department for organising such a grand event.
       Other officers present on the occasion were Natasha Kalsotra, Registrar Jammu, Amar Joyti Raina, Dy. Director Tourism Jammu, Abdul Jabbar, Dy. Director Tourism Publicity, Sheena Sahni, Assistant Director Tourism Jammu, Mehak Gupta, Accounts Officer Directorate Tourism Jammu.
