2 accused arrested in kidnapping of minor girls in B’la

Baramulla, May 01: Baramulla police have arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping of two minor girls here in Sheeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police official said that Abdul Rehman Beigh, the father of the victims, reported to police that his daughters, aged 14 and 15 years, were kidnapped by Mohd Aqib Dar and Rayees Ahmad Lone, both residents of Pehliharan.
Following the complaint, police registered a case under FIR No. 38/2023 u/s 363, 376, 506 IPC.
“The police acted swiftly and apprehended the suspects, rescuing the girls in the process,” the police official said.
After completing necessary legal formalities, the victims were safely handed over to their legal heirs, while the accused remain in police custody.
Baramulla Police have reiterated their commitment to bringing the accused to justice and preventing similar incidents from occurring in the future. The investigation is ongoing.
“We urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any such incidents to the police promptly to prevent similar occurrences in the future,” the police official further said.
