Srinagar, February 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) successfully conducted the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2024 on Sunday, with a total of 19,766 candidates participating across the Union Territory.
An official from the JKPSC confirmed to Rising Kashmir that the examination was carried out smoothly across Jammu and Kashmir.
“Out of the 31,655 candidates who submitted their applications for the exam, 19,766 candidates appeared for the test at 71 centers throughout the Union Territory,” the official said.
In the Kashmir division, there were 22 exam centers, with 14 in Srinagar, 3 in Anantnag, and 5 in Baramulla districts. The Jammu division had 49 centers, with 43 in Jammu district, 2 in Doda, and 4 in Rajouri districts.
The exam, which is a key step towards recruitment for various civil services posts in the region, was held under stringent security arrangements and witnessed a strong turnout from aspiring candidates.
