The revenue authorities on Wednesday conducted an anti-encroachment drive and retrieved 150 kanals of Kaah Charai land at Wanihuma and Cheki Dewan villages of the Beerwah tehsil in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official from the tehsil office Beerwah told the Rising Kashmir that the drive was conducted under the supervision of Tehsildar Beerwah Haroon Rashid along with the other revenue officials in these two villages.
“The drive was conducted across the village.” “During this drive, 150 kanals of Kaah Charai land were retrieved in the Wanihuma and Checki-Devan villages,” an official said.
He said the land was evicted and all illegal encroachments were removed from the retrieved land as the people had cooperated with us to remove all the illegal encroachments from this Kaah Charai land in both the villages.
Adding that the drive will be continued across the Beerwah tehsil as the government has already passed the directions to remove all the enroanchments upon the state land and Kaah Charai land till the end of January 31.
