Acting tough against the elements involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police have arrested 13 persons and seized 13 vehicles involved in the commission of crime.
In Awantipora, acting on specific information regarding illegal extraction & transportation of minerals at Raswat & Mandakpal., a police party of PS Khrew headed by SHO PS Khrew conducted the raids on specific locations and seized 11 vehicles (tippers) loaded with illegally extracted stones & arrested 11 persons on the spot.
Meanwhile in Baramulla, a police party of PP Palhallan seized 02 tractors and arrested 02 drivers at Dargam Nallah Palhallan who were involved in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals.
They have been shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
