Srinagar, Feb 10: To give a voice to the views of youth, talks and awareness programmes on Youth 20 (Y20) will be organized in various schools of Jammu and Kashmir.
For this purpose, 10 higher secondary schools, both private and government, from each district are proposed for holding Y20 talks and awareness activities.
An order of Chief Accounts Officer, Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) said that the schools have been selected in consultation with the Chief Education Officers on the basis of good enrolment, gender proportion and coverage in the entire district.
S.P Hr. Secondary School, M.P M. L Higher Secondary School, BHSS Jawahar Nagar, BHSS Hazratbal, GHSS Amira Kadal, GHSS Kothibagh, GHSS Chanapora, GHSS Sonwar, Biscoe, Mallinson School and Green Valley Educational Institute are the schools selected from the district of Srinagar.
Youth 20 is an official consultation forum for youth from all G20 member countries to be able to dialogue with each other. Encouraging youth as future leaders, it aims to raise awareness of global issues, exchange ideas, argue, negotiate and reach consensus. Started in 2021, it is the youth version of G20 Summits.
A few days back, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur launched the White Paper on five themes of Y20.
The five themes are Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation and 21st century, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: Making Sustainability as a Way of Life, Peace Building and Reconciliation: Ushering in an Era of No War, Shared Future: Youth in Democracy and Governance, Health, Wellbeing & Sports: Agenda for Youth.
