10 Dead, 50 injured after Bus Plunges Into Deep Gorge in Jammu

At least, 10 persons lost their lives while 50 passengers were injured when a bus carrying 75 passengers veered off the road and plummeted into a deep gorge near Jajjar Kotli area of Jammu district on Tuesday early morning.

An official from Jajjar Kotli Police Station told The Rising Kashmir that a bus bearing regd no. (UP81CT-3537) travelling from Amritsar to Katra suddenly swerved off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Jajjar Kotli area of jammu, resulting in the loss of 10 lives and leaving 50 persons injured.

“The injured survivors were swiftly transported to nearby GMC Jammu where they are currently receiving medical treatment. The condition of some of the injured individuals is reported to be critical,” official said.

He said that the identification process of the deceased is currently underway.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and started the process of investigation in this regard.

The Prime Minister further said that the states and the state assemblies play a huge role in shaping the goals of the country.
