Srinagar, May 17: On Wednesday, the 10th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Batmaloo, Srinagar, observed the solemn occasion of the death anniversary of Martyr Rohini Chandra Roy. Martyr Rohini Chandra Roy, Sr. Field Assistant (Vety), tragically lost his life in an IED blast triggered by Naxals on the Dantewada-Sukma Highway in Chhattisgarh while en route to government duty. His supreme sacrifice occurred on this day in the year 2010.
Born on January 19, 1966, Shri Rohini Chandra Roy hailed from Siliguri in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal. He served as a brave and dedicated member of the Sashastra Seema Bal, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness and heroism.
The Sashastra Seema Bal fondly remembers and cherishes the valiant act of Shri Rohini Chandra Roy, SFA (Vety), who laid down his life on the line of duty for the nation. To commemorate the sacrifice of this esteemed martyr, Commandant Sh. Rohitashwa, along with all the personnel of the 10th Battalion SSB, paid their heartfelt tributes by offering floral wreaths at the memorial site. The ceremony was a poignant reminder of the dedication and courage displayed by Martyr Rohini Chandra Roy in service to the country.
