YSS organises inter zonal, district level competitions in South Kashmir

Srinagar May 17: Youth Services and Sports (YSS) inter school and district level competitions in South Kashmir's Shopian and Kulgam in many games on Tuesday.
As per the official Zone Devsar, Zone Qaimohand and Zone Yari Pora of Kulgam organised inter School Zonal level Volleyball, Tug of war and Table Tennis competitions for the girls in all age groups.
While as in the Yari Pora Sports Zone of the District, a volleyball event was organised with a record participation of 194 student players.
Similarly in Devsar sports Zone, Tug of war competitions were organised at Guru Park Devsar in which a total of 325 girls and boys participated from different schools of the Zone.
Likewise, in another Zone of the District, Qaimoh, a total of 232 girls and boys participated in Table Tennis competitions.
However, all the Zonal Officers awarded their meritorious participants with medals and Certificates.
In another southern district of the valley, Shopian District level competition were organised in the discipline of Tug of War and Rope Skipping for U-19 girls category at Sports Stadium Shopian.
The tournament was inaugurated by the Accounts incharge Farooq Ahmad Mir. He interacted with students and briefed them about the benifits of the Rope Skiping and Tug of War sports.
“There are multiple benefits of skipping rope from losing weight to reducing the chances of cancer. Skipping rope is a great calorie-burner and improves the cardiovascular system," he said.
Mir further stated that rope skipping is an excellent upper body exercise, tug of war works the muscles of the chest, shoulders, forearms, and core.
