There is no doubt in the fact that the government cannot accommodate all those who are in search of jobs. In fact our youth waste lots of time and energy while being madly after a petty government job. Need is to find alternatives that can open up new paths and explore new fields of economic activity. Howsoever complex the structure of modern day economy may be fact remains that the basics of economic activity remain the same. Coordination between human and material resources is still the real engine of any economy. Widening gap between rich and poor is all because there are only a few people who have access to the material resources. Result of this exclusivity is that a large chunk of people remain detached from the market, which in essence is the confluence of human and material resources. The woes of our unemployed youth are not going to end if our ideas about earning livelihood don’t change. In this regard the concept of micro financing and creation of small groups of educated youth, who are ready to make a place in the market, is worthy of attention. Reaching out to this segment of our society, providing monetary assistance to them for undertaking various mid-cost economic activities, and aligning them in right way with the market forces can help minimise the crisis of unemployment. In the rest of the world, the reliance on government jobs is over and people increasingly set up their own businesses or explore options of getting associated with a company that has an expanded monetary and market base. This way they not only earn good money but remain alert to newer opportunities. Without wasting time our youth should change their mindset and approach the problem of unemployment in a fresh and innovative way. There is a world of opportunities, the only thing is that we should dust the sloth off and start moving in the right direction. The avenues of earning livelihood are not to be confined to government sector. Our energies and our talent can earn us much more than what a decent government job can.
