As a woman of any age, taking care of your health should be at the top of your priority list.

30s

Get your flu shot. Your life may revolve on your children if you're a woman in her 30s. You are frequently around young children at parties, school visits, and sporting events. Get your flu shot every year to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Take precautions against the sun. In your 30s, you spend a lot of time outside with your family — vacations, hikes with friends, and watching your child's ballgames. Remember that all women, not just those who tan, are at risk for skin cancer.

40s

Take a diabetes test. When you reach the age of 45, your chances of acquiring Type 2 diabetes skyrocket. Every three years, the American Diabetes Association recommends that everyone 45 and older be checked for diabetes.

Continue to be active. Many women in their forties quit exercising as much as they used to. Try to get at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day, no matter how busy job and family make you.

50s

Mammograms should be done on a frequent basis. In women, breast cancer is the most usually diagnosed cancer. Starting at the age of 50, get a mammogram every 1 to 2 years.

Menopause is something you should discuss with your doctor. Don't be frightened by this new chapter in your life. Consult your doctor about the effects of menopause on several parts of your health.

60s and above

Get a bone density test to see if you're at risk for osteoporosis. It's critical to look after your bones. Once you've reached the age of 65, you should have a bone density test every two years.

Exercise is just as important as it has always been. However, as you become older, it may become more challenging.
