VMS & EnAble India conclude ToT on digital literacy & STEM for special educators

  Srinagar, Sept 27: Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS), in collaboration with EnAble India under the ‘See A Million’ initiative, concluded a three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme on Digital Literacy, Awareness and STEM for special educators of the J&K School Education Department. The program was held from September 25 to 27 at the VMS Auditorium, Bemina, Srinagar. As per a statement issued here, the valedictory session was attended by Mohammad Mushtaq, Joint Director of School Education, Kashmir, as the Chief Guest. He distributed certificates among participants and facilitated the resource persons. The training began with a welcome address by Prof. Masooda Yaseen, followed by an introduction to the initiative by Adil Hussain Sheikh, Senior Executive, EnAble India. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mushtaq Ahmad Malik. The program focused on strengthening the capacity of special educators to better address the needs of children with visual impairments through inclusive learning strategies. Core focus areas included inclusive education practices, assistive technology and digital literacy, STEM learning approaches for blind and low-vision students, orientation and mobility training, and the use of specialized educational resources. This initiative underscores VMS’s commitment to promoting inclusive education and digital empowerment, ensuring equitable access to quality learning opportunities for children with visual impairments.
