Samba, March 11: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh Saturday said that the educated youth and growing unemployment gave rise to the feeling of uncertain future among the young generation in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The youth have lost their hopes for their bright future and all expectations from the Govt which did not listen to their genuine demands of holding time bound and fair selection process in Govt jobs,” said Manjit Singh.
The Former Minister was addressing a meeting at Parmandal in which dozens of youth joined the Apni Party.
The program was organized by ST Wing State President Saleem Alam, and District Youth President Samba, among others were also there.
In his address, S. Manjit Singh welcomed the new entrants into the party and hoped that their joining would strengthen the party at the ground level in Parmandal.
He said that the youth have pinned their hopes with the Apni Party because of developmental policies and dynamic leaders of Altaf Bukhari who ensured the rights of the youth and locals can be protected, referring to the protection of jobs for J&K residents.
Singh however expressed concern over the non-serious approach towards concerns of the youth and job seekers who have been protesting against the Aptech Limited.
“The Govt has no clear plans to provide employment or ensure protection of jobs to the industrial sector as well. However, the recruitment for various posts in recent years has turned into major scams. Therefore, the youth have lost their hopes with the present Govt as they apprehend that Aptech Limited cannot ensure transparent recruitment,” he said and extended support to the job aspirants of JKSSB.
He demanded that the Govt should ensure reservation of jobs in the industrial sectors. He also demanded that the youth should be made self-reliant to meet the challenge of unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir.
