Two storey house gutted partially in Baramulla fire incident

Swift action of Army, Fire and Emergency Services Department prevented further damage

A double storey house was partially gutted in a fire incident in Old town area of north Kashmir's Baramulla in the wee hours on Monday. 

 

An army official said that chinar warriors successfully extinguished a house fire in Arampora Mohalla, Old Town Baramulla, saving lives and preventing further damage.

 

According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out in the early hours of the morning at around 7 am from the house of Manzoor Ahmad and Tariq Ahmad Soleh and quickly spread, engulfing the entire house. 

 

The army official said that a local military unit was immediately notified and arrived on the scene promptly.

 

"They quickly took control of the situation and were able to douse the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring homes," the official added. 

 

The Army said that the Chinar Warriors acted swiftly and courageously to extinguish the fire and prevent further damage. Their efforts saved precious lives and ensured the safety of the community. 

 

Khursheed Ahmad, a fire and emergency service department official told Rising Kashmir that the fire broke out in a double storey house in the Arampora Mohalla of Old town at around 7 am. 

 

"Three fire tenders were utilized to douse off the flames. In the incident, household items on the second floor, ceiling and other items were destroyed. However swift action prevented further damage," he added. 

 

He said that two families were residing in the double storey house. 

 

The locals have appealed the local administration to assist the poor families as they suffered heavy losses in the fire incident.
