Two siblings won silver medals in National Pencak Silat Championship

Srinagar, Jan. 20: Two siblings of DPS Budgam, from 90 feet Soura, Srinagar brought laurels after winning silver medals in the 10th Sub-Junior and Junior (boys and girls) National Pencak Silat Championship 2022-2023. The championship was held from January 13th to 16th at Nanded's district sports complex, Shri Guru Gobind Ji Stadium Maharastra.
Umi-Abliha and her brother Konain Abass won silver medals for Kashmir Valley in the group competition. The duo was a member of the 42-person Indian Pencak Silat team, which had 36 players, coaches, and staff members from all over the nation, including eight players and three coaches from Jammu and Kashmir, UT.
The coach of the siblings said the duo performed tremendously during the tournament and unfortunately did not won gold for the UT. He stated that based on how the duo is displaying their interest in the game, he is confident that the gold is not far away.
He went on to say that they also participate in regular practice and are doing their best in sports, and he is optimistic that they will reach new heights soon. At the ages of 7 and 8, children don’t come out of their houses without their parents, but these siblings are strong enough and are practicing without any fear.
The duo's parents expressed their joy at the duo's silver medal win and said they were happy their children had won silver medals. The duo's mother expressed hope that her child would be able to realize his or her dreams in sports.
