Tsering Angchuk inaugurates Apricot Blossom Festival in Nubra region

Leh, April 07: Dy Chairman Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh, Tsering Angchuk Friday inaugurated the Apricot Blossom Festival in Udmaroo village in the Nubra region.
          The festival was organised by the Tourism Department of LAHDC Leh, with support from the villagers of Udmaroo village.
Councillor Hunder, Kunzang Lotus; BDC Diskit, Stanzin Gyatso; AD Tourism, Tsering Spalzes, and a large number of villagers attended the celebration.
The festival witnessed a colorful display of cultural performances by school students and villagers. The local cuisines and other traditional practices were a major attraction.
Officials said the festival is aimed to attract and promote tourism to experience the vibrant culture and traditions of Ladakh, especially during the blooming of the apricot trees.
Speaking on the occasion, Dy Chairman Tsering Angchuk stated that the Apricot Blossom festival is a celebration of the unique cultural heritage of Ladakh.
He urged the local community to continue supporting such events, which will not only promote traditions and culture but also provide livelihood opportunities to the people.
The Deputy chairman also stressed on the importance of educating the younger generation regarding the importance of preserving age-old traditions in the modern day times. He further thanked all the organisers for the successful conduct of the festival.
