SVEEP awareness Prog held at SP College Srinagar

Srinagar, Apr 10: As the part of extensive Systematic Voter Education Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Campaign in District Srinagar, awareness cum registration programme was held at Government Sri Pratap College, M.A Road Srinagar by the District Election Authority.
The programme was organized by electoral literacy club of the College in association with Dean Student’s welfare while Service Support was facilitated by department of IT.
The programme was presided over by the Principal Sri Pratap College, Srinagar Prof. (Dr) Gh. Jeelani Quershi, Prof Rabia Ahmad Head Department of English , Dean Student Welfare Dr Khalida Hassan, Dr shazia Mushtaq, Dr Rais Mohmmad, Coordinator Electoral literacy Club of Sri Pratap College, Dr Syed Javid Ahmad Andrabi, was attended by coordinator SVEEP Zahoor Ahmad Mir, National Level Master Trainer/Consultant and Sr. Election Officials from District Election machinery, besides Administration, Staff and Students of the College.
The Programme witnessed large participation of the students who were apprised about the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls 2023. The students who have attained age of 18 were sensitized about the process of registering themselves as voters to become eligible to exercise their franchise to cast their vote to elect their representative.
Speaking on the occasion principal said that “Such programmes are very important and which will increase the level of awareness among voters, especially students and facilitate their participation in the election process,” He said that students have a greater and much important role in strengthening the democratic institutions of the country and for that they should come forward and exercise their right to franchise.
Over 300 students and college faculty members participated in the programme and more than 200 enrolment forms were distributed among the students on spot.
