Srinagar girl wins gold, J&K bags 4 medals

Srinagar, April 07:The Jammu and Kashmir Wushu team have brought laurels to Valley by winning four medals in the 21st Sub-Junior National Wushu championship held at  Noorul Islam University Kamarcoil Kannyakumari, Tamil Nadu, from March 25 to 31 , 2022.
Hanya from District Srinagar secured gold medal in 42kg whereas Khushnuma  from Srinagar secured Bronze medal in 52kg  while Pratiba Devi from Jammu secured 02 Bronze medals in Nanquan events.
Secretary, JKSC, Nuzhat Gul congratulated the medal winners especially the Gold medalist girl, Hanya.
She assured full support  from the JKSC to the Wushu sports in the coming years and appreciated the Wushu Association of J&K for the commendable job.
President Vijay Saraf JKWA,  Ranjeet Kalra Senior VP,  Bhavneet, General Secretary, Sunil Sharma and Sohit Sharma  congratulated all the medalists and the Coaches for making whole J&K (UT) proud.
 They also hailed J&K Government and the J&K Sports council in particular for initiating the cash award scheme to all the medalists for the year 2021-22.
"It is a great initiative and big boost to the sports in the UT J&K," They  said.
Dronacharya Awardee and the National Chief Coach of India Kuldeep Handoo also have  congratulated all the  medalists and the coaches for exhibiting  outstanding performance in the Sub-Junior National Wushu  Championship at Tamil Nadu.
Handoo conveyed a congratulatory message to the District Srinagar Wushu Association for the commendable job for the year 2021-22 and hoped that they will continue efforts for bringing more laurels for the upcoming events.
He also apprised that 05 players from UT J&k have been enrolled in the NCOE Bhopal for the preparation of the Indian wushu team for the Youth Asian Games 2022.
