Srinagar, June 12: Terming the current political situation in J&K “grim”, former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Prof.Saif-ud-Din Soz Sunday batted for “united fight” against BJP and RSS in future assembly polls in the Union Territory.

He said the “fascist” groups would be defeated and collapsed only if regional parties will keep their disagreements aside for a common minimum program.

The congress stalwart while speaking to Rising Kashmir said the time has come for NC, PDP, Congress and other regional parties to get united and fight against the BJP and RSS collectively so that their “anti-Kashmir and anti-people designs” will be defeated.

“There should be no hesitation for Congress and other regional parties to fight polls jointly. Let all parties discuss the modus operandi and share seats democratically. What is the difficulty in it,” Soz said and added, “The Congress should ask for the space which it deserves. We should not ask for stars if we don’t deserve. The united fight against fascist forces is imperative now.”

The Congress leader further said that the regional mainstream political parties should not leave a single inch to RSS and BJP either in Jammu or in Kashmir.

“We can succeed only if we remain together. And if we fight each other that will be very bad,” he added.

He hoped that better sense will prevail soon in regional mainstream political parties.

“I will also try in my capacity with humble way to get local political parties assembled on common minimum program,” he said.

Speaking on the current political situation, the senior leader said, “We have fallen to very bad times.” He alleged New Delhi is creating atmosphere of animosity in Kashmir.

“New Delhi is promoting alienation by the day. Sometimes I feel the present day Union Government seems interested in deepening the alienation between Kashmiri people,” he added.
