SKUAST-K concludes certificate course for pesticide dealers

Srinagar, Mar 02: A valedictory and certificate distribution ceremony was organised by SKUAST-Kashmir for pesticides dealers and distributors after the successful completion of a 12 day-training program.

The concluding ceremony of the event, which was organised by the Directorate of Extension/SAMETI, was attended by Dr Hina Shafi Bhat, Vice Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K was the Guest of Honour. 

Prof.Mushtaq Ahmad Wani , Associate Director Extension presented the welcome address, while Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai-Director Planning and Monitoring,  spoke about the economic status of region viz-a-viz horticulture and use of pesticides and stressed on their judicial use. Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad appraised the attendees about the achievements and contribution of SKUAST-K in the development of agriculture and allied sectors.

He congratulated Dr Farahanaz Rasool, Deputy Director Training and her team for their efforts in human resource development linked to the farming community and appreciated the support received from different sponsoring agencies, particularly the Jammu and Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) for the funding.

Dr Hina Shafi Bhat in her speech appreciated the SKUAST-K for their role in the development of the farming community. She also appraised youth about the various schemes in operation that shall be helpful in entrepreneurship development and also promised complete support to the SKUAST-K for promoting the economy through agriculture. 

Prof. Masood Saleem Mir, Associate Director Extension (Animal Science) presented the vote of thanks, while the session was moderated by Prof. Purshottam Singh.
