SED stays premature transfers of lecturers

Srinagar, June 19: The School Education Department (SED) has stayed premature transfer of lecturers under Annual Transfer Drive (ATD) 2022.
Under Secretary, School Education Department, Mohammad Iqbal Mir said, “It is conveyed to all the concerned that all premature cases of transfers of lecturers under ATD-2022, as on February-09 and as per the transfer criteria of soft, hard and very hard zones in transfer policy of the government, and affected through various notifications are hereby stayed till further orders.”
In a circular issued earlier this week, the officer said, “It is accordingly impressed upon all Principals, Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of the school concerned not to allow the joining of all those lecturers who are transferred to the places of those lecturers transferred prematurely as on February-09.”
Mir further directed that such cases will be processed urgently to minimize the difficulties of the affected lecturers.
“Further, Principals, DDOs of the school concerned shall forward all such cases or orders for further action in the department,” it reads.
The School Education Department has introduced the drive in the 2021 academic year to overcome the practice of manual transfers of its employees.
