Srinagar, Dec 22: Sanctorum Public School, Sopore on Thursday won the final match of the Youth Football Championship by defeating Pioneer Institute 3-0 here at Srinagar. The school team also qualified for the Phase II Zone Kashmir which will be played in Chandigarh in January 2023.
Earlier, Sanctorum Public School defeated SRM Welkin Sopore in the semi-finals in a tiebreaker. The tournament was organized by extra m Marks in Partnership with Arsenal Football Club.
Shakir Ashraf, Managing Director, Sanctorum Institute, said, “It delights me immensely to see that the team prosper and overcome all hurdles. I dedicate it to those who worked behind the scenes at great peril to make the victory possible.” He said that phase III will pave the way to London for the team. This year Sanctorum has been the runner-up in 3 inter-school tournaments.
The management of Sanctorum Public School congratulated the team for their success and also the Sports Department, especially Mr. Rameez Maqbool (Manager Sanctorum FC), for being the driving force behind the team’s success.
