Rally against child labour held at Bandipora

Srinagar, June 20: As part of the week long campaign for elimination of child labour, the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) on Monday held a rally against child labour in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
As per an official communique, the rally was held in collaboration with Department of Labour, Education, Special Juvenile police unit and various NGOs (AAA Foundation, JKASW and JKSWM) today conducted a rally against child labour in Bandipora.
Students of High School Bagh and officials from different departments participated in the rally.The rally started from BaghBandipora and passed through main market Bandipora to various places of town.
The aim of the rally was to aware public regarding consequences of employing children in hazardous workplaces and mass awareness regarding importance of child education, consequences of labour on physical and mental wellbeing of the children.
The rally also witnessed an oath taking ceremony to conduct anti child labour drives in future and punish the culprits involved so that child labour is eradicated.
