Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, KK Sharma today said that the public welfare and empowerment forms core of the Back to village program of the Jammu and Kashmir Government.

The Advisor was interacting with the locals during his visit to various panchayats of Samba district on the launch of B2V 3.

The Advisor visited Khada Madana, Katwalta Panchayats of block Purmandal and panchayat Vijaypur of block Vijaypur.

The Advisor met with the Block Development Council Chairpersons, Sarpanches, panches and locals and listened to their demands.

The Advisor said that day coincides with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who advocated Panchayati Raj, a decentralised form of government.

“Following the Gandhian ideas of Gram Swaraj and Panchayati Raj system, the Jammu & Kashmir government is making untiring efforts to reach out to the people and include all the stakeholders in the process of decision-making and public policy formulation to bring a positive social, political and economic change,” he added. He said the back to village programme has entered the third phase and under it, a responsive government is envisaged wherein grievances of locals will be addressed at the local level.

The government aims to fill the institutional gaps and meet the development aspirations of the villagers through this unique program, he added.

Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria; SSP Rajesh Sharma; visiting officer Arun Manhas; Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur, C P Kotwal; ACD Sidharath Dhiman, besides district officers of line departments block development officers and concerned field staff were also present.
