Srinagar, Nov 23: Public School English Medium Palhallan (PSEM) on Wednesday celebrated its first maiden Annual Day under its new administration in which various programs were performed by the students of the institution. The mega event was presided over by Sajad Ahmad Lone, Principal of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Palhallan.
The luminaries gracing the occasion included Haji Altaf Hussain Rather, Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh, Mir Mubashir Lateef, Adv Malik Aamir Legal Advisor PSEM, Mohd Ashraf Bhat, and Dr.Omar.
On the occasion, Chief Guest Mr.Sajad Ahmad Lone advised the students in his address and urged them to follow their hearts. “The world is so wide and offers a lot of opportunities and learning should be translated into living,” he said.
Lone exhorted the teachers to inculcate the 3 Ps – Planning, Preparation and Prioritize. He said there are no shortcuts to success and urged students to work hard for competitive exams.
Legal Advisor Adv Malik Aamir expressed his gratitude to the management, and appealed to the local populace to support the School management. Teaching faculty must well train their students as per the required competitive world, he said.
On the occasion, Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh focused that parents must look after their wards and upbring them in the best possible environment. A Teacher is the role model of any society, it is the primary duty of a teacher to equip his student with Morality and Ethics, he said
Mr Muzaffar Ahmad Parray presented the school’s annual report, highlighting the achievements of the school in all spheres. Prizes for Full Attendance, Academic Excellence, Best House of the Year, Best Outgoing Student of the Year, and Special prizes for remarkable achievement in sports and cultural fields were distributed.
Later, the Chief Guest Mr Sajad Ahmad among other dignitaries felicitated the winners of the programs with mementos and certificates.
Earlier, groups of students from lower primary classes showcased their talent with captivating on-stage performances, which included traditional dances, folk songs, a musical orchestra, and a ballet. Besides the school management, guests, and students, the local population with a great number also participated in the event and lauded the management for the grand function. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and a rendition of the school anthem.
