Ganderbal, Jan 25: Police in this central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district saved a precious life by shifting a critically-ill patient to a nearby hospital on Tuesday.
An official told Rising Kashmir that SHO Police Station Lar, Gulzar Ahmad, received a phone call from the upper reaches of Chount Waliwar, Lar in which the caller mentioned that a lady Nasreena Begum, wife of Abdul Rashid Mughal, who was recently operated by doctors, is suffering from severe acute pain and needs help to reach the nearby hospital. Amid snowfall, no vehicle was able to ply on the road due to slippery condition in the area.
After receiving the call, SHO Police Station Lar along with a police party reached the patient’s residence and took here on shoulders up to the police vehicle and shifted her to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Lar for treatment, the official said, adding that the patient was then shifted to SKIMS Soura in a private vehicle.
Meanwhile, the general public of the area applauded the efforts of the District Police Ganderbal by timely admitting the patient to the PHC, thus saved a precious life.
