Bandipora, July 26: Scores of residents from Kaloosa, Quilmuqam, Onagam, Turkpora and Mangnipora villages of North Kashmir's Bandipora district expressed resentment against PMGSY department for failing to upgrade the condition of the road.
Despite being a vital road, the inhabitants told Rising Kashmir that the road is in dilapidated condition and is craving for attention over the past many years.
Shabir Ahmad, a resident of Kaloosa told Rising Kashmir that the road is dotted with potholes and has become a death trap for commuters."We are living just 01 kilometer away from the main town", he said.
He said that the road passes through dozens of villages but it's condition is dilapidated for past many years as the government has neglected it.
Another local, Mushtaq Ahmad told Rising Kashmir that earlier the work was started on road, but then all of a sudden the work was stopped due to the unknown reasons.
He said that the distance that can take 20 minutes to cover takes an hour owing to potholes all over the road.
Meanwhile Executive Engineer PMGSY Bandipora told Rising Kashmir that the project will be completed this year with an estimated cost of 7.49 crores and black topping will also be done.
