Srinagar, June 06: President National Conference (NC) and Member Parliament Dr. Farooq Abdullah Monday asserted that “only elected government can ease sufferings of common people in Jammu and Kashmir”.
Speaking to reporters here, the NC President said the Government should pave the way for conducting elections in Jammu and Kashmir as common people are suffering immensely.
Terming the present LG led dispensation as “afsarshahi”, the senior Abdullah said, “This is not a people's government. Let the elections be held so that people’s sufferings will come to an end”.
“People’s sufferings will not come to an end till their own elected government will not be formed,” he added.
He said if you want to ease the hardships of common people it is inevitable then to ensure people’s government. He also said people have to vote and bring their own government.
Criticizing the BJP government at centre over abrogation of Article 370, the NC president said, “In past the Article 370 was blamed for pampering militancy in J&K, however three year have been passed since its annulment but the militancy does not only exist yet but on rise”.
He also expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation in J&K. “Things are getting worse with the passing of every day,” he said.
