Jammu, May 30: CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu, one of the premier research laboratories of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) under the Union Ministry of Science & Technology organized the curtain raiser event of its “One Week One Lab (OWOL)” programme which would be held next week from June 4 to 10.
On the occasion, Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIIM along with Er Abdul Rahim Chief Scientist & Head RMBD&IST Division, Asha Chaubey, Sr. Principal Scientist & Head FMB, Dr. Dhiraj Vyas, Sr. Principal Scientist & Head PSA Division, Dr. Sumit Gandhi, Sr. Principal Scientist & Head IDD, Dr. Qazi Naved Ahmed, Principal Scientist Head NPMC, Vikram Singh, Controller of Administration, Dr. Deepika Singh, Principal Scientist Head QMI Division, Dr. Saurabh Saran, Principal Scientist & Co-ordinator, OWOL, and I.B. Dixit, CoFA, released the brochure of “One Week One Lab.”
While interacting with the media during the event, Dr. Zabeer Ahmed informed that the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has a total of 37 laboratories all over India.
Giving details of OWOL Programme, the Director, CSIR-IIIM said that the day one event would be Lavender Festival which would be inaugurated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister in Bhaderwah on June 4.
On the second day of OWOL, the student-scientist interaction and live experiment demonstrations would be conducted at CSIR-IIIM (Br.) Srinagar, wherein students from different schools of the valley would be invited under the Jigyasa programme.
On the 3rd day of OWOL, a one-day symposium on Drug Discovery will be organized at IIIM, Jammu, which would be attended by scientists and scholars from various institutions which would be followed by the fourth day when hands-on-workshop on quality control of drugs would be conducted.
Young researchers meet and awareness for farmers will be the fifth day’s programme which will be held at IIIM, Jammu & Chatha Farm respectively. The institute has also planned an awareness program cum training programme for farmers of Leh on the 6th day.
The One Week One Lab program will conclude on June 10, with organising a mega Startup-Conclave at Udhampur. More than 50 startups from J&K working in various areas from agriculture, and healthcare to artificial intelligence, and waste to wealth will showcase their products and innovation in the event.
Dr. Zabeer Ahmed has invited all students, researchers, startups, entrepreneurs, technologists, industrialists, policymakers, members of civil society, and press & media to join the series of events organised by CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine as part of One Week One Lab campaign.
