Nutrition: Get that glowing skin

Skin is the largest organ of our body. It is not just for beauty but has important functions like protecting our internal organs, maintaining temperature of our body. Like all organs it needs good nourishment.

Skin Nutrients:

  • Antioxidants: Fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants and they protect the skin cells.
  • Vitamin C synthesizes Collagen which keeps it plump and young. Citrus fruits, Papaya, tomatoes, guava are good sources
  • Vitamin E protects against the damage caused by free radical production due to the Ultra violet rays. Nuts and seeds like almonds, hazelnuts, pine nuts and cooking oils like sunflower and corn oil are good sources of vitamin E.
  • Selenium protects against Acne. Selenium prevents premature ageing, wrinkling, protects against UV ray damage and prevent pigmentation. Selenium is found in lentils, brown rice, chicken, Brazil nuts.
