NUTRIENTS FOR WOMEN- Adult health
Post by Rupali Datta, RD on Saturday, October 15, 2022
In adulthood, the nutrients need to change in every decade.
In 20-30 years women are planning a family and Folic acid is of prime importance for a safe pregnancy. It protects against neural tube defects in foetus, helps in maintain adequate production of RBCs for blood volume in pregnancy and also protecting against anaemia
Iron deficiency is very common, even in the affluent sections of our society due to an increased consumption of nutrient free foods. Iron is needed for providing adequate oxygen to keep the organs healthy.
Calcium is needed not just for bone health but also to maintain the heart health, muscles movement and it plays a crucial role in our nervous system.
