Night shelter, meals, heating arrangements provided to stranded passengers: DC Ramban

Ramban, Jan 09:   Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam Sunday monitored road clearance operation on NH- 44 to ensure that all stranded passengers are provided meals besides night shelter at designated places.
He said that the administration has launched a road clearance operation to clear the road besides providing night shelter, meals and heating arrangements to stranded passengers.
ADC, Ramban, Harbans Sharma; SDMs, CEO MC, Vishwajeet, ARTO, Shafqat Majid,  Tehsildard and   officers of civil and police administration are supervising snow and road clearance operation in their respective jurisdictions on NH-44 from Nashri to Banihal  as well as other link roads and ensuring adequate arrangements for the stay of stranded passengers in shelter sheds  along National Highway.
The DC informed that restoration works are in progress on war footing to restore essential facilities in the district for the convenience of the general public. He directed the Executive Engineer of PWD and PMGSY to restore all link roads for plying of vehicles.
The DC said that due to heavy rain and snowfall the landslides had blocked the 270-km long highway, the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with the rest of the country at Mehar, Maroge, Sita Ramban Passi and Panthyal in Ramban district. He said that the administration has launched a road clearance operation to clear the road besides providing night shelter, meals and heating arrangements to stranded passengers.
The DC directed executing agencies to depute adequate men and machinery to remove landslides instantly from National Highway to avoid traffic breakdown.  He appealed commuters to contact traffic control rooms before starting their journey on the highway.
Meanwhile, the DC also inspected shelter sheds established by the administration at Ramban, Ramsoo and Banihal etc along the National Highway for the stay of commuters in case of blockage of road from Nashri to Banihal. 
The DC directed the SDMs of Banihal and Ramsoo to ensure heating arrangements, eatables, sanitation and toilet facilities in all RAHAT centres besides other necessary facilities for stranded passengers.
Snow clearance operations carried out in Chadoora
Budgam, Jan 09: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today conducted an extensive tour of Chadoora to take stock of Snow clearance operation.
During the tour, the DC took on spot stock of Snow clearance work and restoration of essential services.
He inspected various areas including Surasyar, Dada Ompora, Sogam and other villages. Various public delegations on the occasion called upon the DC and apprised him of their issues and demands.
The DC lauded the concerned departments for timely  restoration of electricity and water supply to all affected areas.
He said that both men and machinery were out into service and carried out swift Snow clearance operations across the district.
He emphasized that snow clearance work shall continue and all link roads and lanes shall also be cleared by the concerned on priority.
During the visit, the DC also took stock of health care facilities and stressed on providing better patient care to the public.
The DC was accompanied by SDM Chadoora, BMO Nagam, Ex. Engineers from PHE, R&B and officers from other concerned departments.
Restoration efforts on to provide hassle-free services: DC Pulwama
Pulwama, Jan 09:  The District Administration Pulwama is on toes to combat the post Snowfall situation in the district and the normal life has partially normalized with immediate steps taken.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary issued specific instructions to all the concerned officers, field-level officers to ensure swift completion of Snow-clearance operation. He also directed them to monitor restoration efforts and ensure round-the-clock operations for the earliest possible restoration in areas where public services are still disrupted.
He enjoined upon them to remain at the beck and call of the people and ensure an uninterrupted supply of essentials and healthcare facilities across the district.
The DC and SSP are personally monitoring the situation under and have carried extensive tours to different places in the district including hospitals, Receiving stations and other important public utility installations.
The DC also directed senior officials to ensure adequate men and machinery for snow clearance of village link roads and further asked them to ensure the team on the ground is functional round the clock to provide maximum relief to the common man.
The Snow clearance drive has been started in the nook and corner to maintain smooth traffic movement on roads besides helpline numbers have been set up by the administration to ensure its access to the general public.
DC Kulgam visits hilly areas of Noorabad
Kulgam, Jan 09: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Sunday conducted an extensive tour of various rural and hilly areas of Noorabad and took firsthand appraisal of Snow clearance operations, restoration of essential services besides taking stock of the availability of essential commodities.
The DC visited K. B. Pora, Nihama,  Gopalpora, Batpora, Yaroo,  D. H. Pora besides other areas and interacted with people and listened to their issues.
People appreciated the Deputy Commissioner and administration for prompt and timely restoration of essential services and mitigation of sufferings, issues of people.
They also complimented the administration for bringing normal life on track despite these areas witnessing heavy Snowfall.
The DC also urged the people to adopt COVID Appropriate Behavior to avoid spread of Covid-19 infection and to keep the possibility of third wave of COVID-19 at bay.
Later, the DC inspected Sub District Hospital at D.H.Pora  and took stock of patient care and other medical services being provided to people there. 
He also interacted with the patients and attendants and enquired about the facility being provided to them in the hospital.
He also instructed ACD to ensure lifting of Snow from premises of hospital within hours.
The DC also urged hospital authorities to provide best medical services to people to ensure 24X7 functioning of control rooms.
He also instructed Tehsildar and other concerned officers to ensure regular market checking to curb black marketing, profiteering and hoardings to ensure availability of quality goods and products in market.
The DC was accompanied by Chief Engineer MED Kashmir, ADC, ACR, ACD, Executive Engineer R&B, Tehsildar, SHO and other officers.
