The Bureau of Pharma Public Sector Undertakings of India (BPPI) Monday conducted a daylong seminar at Institute of Hotel Management Rajbagh here on Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Scheme. While welcoming the participants, Rift Nazir, state coordinator BPPI said that the BPPI is planning to conduct a series of such awareness programmes to make the stakeholder and public in gerneral aware about the benefits of PMJAY through which quality generic medicines are made available to people at affordable price.
She thanked the public institutions, especially Indian Red Cross Society J&K state branch who partnered for spreading the Jan Aushadhi movement in the state. The event was participated by eminent government officers, media persons and civil society organisations including General Secretary IRCS J&K state Branch Mohd Shafi Rather, Prof. Nusrat Andrabi, Secretary IRCS Kashmir Region, Director News RNU Srinagar Qazi Salman, Assistant Drug controller Parvaiz Ahmad, Former Chairman PSC Mohammad Shafi Pandit, Senior Broadcaster Brij Nath Betab, Theater Director and Playwright Amin Bhat, TV Anchor and Broadcaster Azhar Hajini, Chairperson Help Foundation Nighat Shafi and other dignitaries.
Assistant Director Drug, Parvaiz Ahmed described the revamping of the Jan Aushadhi Scheme as a great step by the Prime Minster of India which would have enormous economic and social benefits for the poor patients.
