People from all walks of life on Thursday expressed their heartfelt condolences over the sudden and tragic demise of Rising Kashmir’s senior reporter, Javaid Ahmad.
Javaid suffered a massive heart attack near Hyderbeigh Pattan while travelling to Srinagar from Baramulla today. He was rushed to nearby Pattan Trauma Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
In a statement issued, The Kashmir Press Club (KPC) said tragic death has left the whole fraternity pained. “The management committee as well as club members remembered him as a thorough professional and an extremely humble person. On behalf of the journalistic community and members of the club we extend our condolences with his family.”
Similarly, Kashmir Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) President Yusuf Jameel recalled how Javid Ahmad had been helpful to fellow journalists at the Media Facilitation Centre set up by the J&K Directorate of Information of Public Relations in Srinagar post August 5, 2019. He said, “I spent some jolly moments with Javid Ahmad at the Media Facilitation Centre. He was very helpful too…would often offer his chair and internet/ hotspot connection to me on seeing me entering the crowded centre.”
Jameel added, “Seeing blood shed around on a daily basis in the past over three decades, our hearts have turned into stones but I couldn’t hold back my tears for this gentle boy and buddy. People like him remain ‘javid’- undying and eternal- at least, in others’ hearts.”
KUWJ general secretary Innayat Jehangir added, “Javid Ahmad was an affable person and had done some wonderful work over the past few years. Sadly, a bright career was cut shot today.” He added, “We pray for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family for bearing this huge loss.”
Joint Director Information Department, Kashmir held a condolence meeting under the chairmanship of Haris Handoo wherein deep sorrow and grief was expressed over the demise.
Joint Director Information Kashmir in his address said that his death is a great loss to the society as the deceased played a leading role in highlighting the local public issues in his outlet.
He also offered his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage for the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
While expressing deep sorrow and grief over the demise, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (J&KPCC) Vice President and former MLC G N Monga said his tragic death is a great loss to his family and the media fraternity. He prayed for courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference’s Party Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani while expressing condolences over the demise, prayed for peace to the deceased and fortitude to the grief stricken family to bear the irreparable loss. “I am pained to hear about the sudden demise of a talented and budding journalist Javaid Ibn Nazir. I pray to Almighty to grant him the highest stations in Jannah. I also express my solidarity with grief stricken family, associates and friends of his,” he said.
Party’s Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Additional Spokesperson Sara Hayat Shah, district President Baramulla Javed Dar has also condoled the demise of Javaid Ibn Nazir, prayed for peace to his soul and much needed strength to the bereaved family, friends and associates of his.
Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spokesman and Media Advisor to the Party President Syed Suhail Bukhari in his condolence message, described Javaid as a sincere, hardworking and promising professional whose work stands testament to his qualities as a journalist.
Bukhari expressed solidarity with Javaid’s family and prayed for eternal peace to his soul.
Chairman, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen in his condolence message described demise of budding journalist a huge loss to the media fraternity.
While paying heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and Rising Kashmir Group of Publications, Hakeem Yaseen prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir also expressed profound grief over the passing away of RK Correspondent and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved family.
In his condolence message, Mir expressed anguish over the passing away of Rising Kashmir Correspondent Javed Ahmad and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved family.
Senior trade union leader , President EJAC Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam while expressing his solidarity with the bereaved, he said that Employees Joint Action Committee Jammu Kashmir (EJAC) stands with them in this hour of grief.
He paid rich tributes to the deceased and termed him a talented journalist who reached heights of success in a very young age.
Shaheen Sports chairman Showkat Khanyari said, “For a conscious society losing such a journalist is like losing an irreparable asset. Our hearts and minds are the bereaved family members of the deceased. May Allah the Almighty rest his soul in Jannat and his work and contribution will be a source of inspiration for all of us.”
Former MLA and leader of Apni Party, Yawar Mir in a condolence message, expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
“We have not only lost a budding journalist, but an asset from Rafiabad, he was a very humble and true friend to everyone,” said Yawar Mir.
In a condolence message Chairman JKCSF Abdul Qayoom Wani termed his death as a great loss in the field of journalism .
Wani prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the believed family and Rising Kashmir staff.
Senior Apni Party Leader Ghulam Hassan Mir also expressed shock over his demise and condoled his death.
Senior National Conference leader Ajay Sadhotra, Retired Air Vice Marshal Kapil Kak also condoled the sudden death of Javid.

M Saleem Pandit, Assistant Editor, The Times of India , Jammu and Kashmir expressed deep sorrow and grief at the sudden demise of the upcoming journalist and reporter of “The Rising Kashmir” .
“Javid was an energetic and positive journalist, who would work for several local news agencies as well,” TOI journalist said.
Pandit conveyed his condolences to the grief-stricken family and friends of the deceased and prayed for strength to his family members to bear this loss.
“May Allah Almighty place him in Janaat,” Saleem added.
Another senior journalist Majid Hydri also expressed grief over the demise of Javid.
