All J&K Students Union activists along with many students of the Peer Panchal region on Monday held peaceful protest demonstration against innocent killings, use of pallet guns, harassment of JK students and “discrimination meted out to with the students from Peer Panchal in the educational institutes of the state”.
According to a statement, the protest was held outside the government degree college Rajouri.
The protesting students expressed solidarity with the families of “killed, maimed, blinded, and jailed persons in general and students in particular in Kashmir and condemned the brutalities done against them. “They said students suffered the most during the unrest in the valley. “
According to the statement, they also said that the “hatred and harassment, which JK students are facing outside the valley, is unethical and immoral; every human being should discourage these things.”
They also alleged that the students from Peer Panchal range face step motherly treatment in the Universities of J&K.
The statement said that protesting students were holding placards that read; “we are united demanding our rights not concession”, “Stop killings in the name of nationalism “, “we are not afraid of force, we will speak”.
Intkhab Malik a student activist said, “We the students of J&K are united against violence and exploitation, we are united to break the barriers that divide us,” read a statement.
Vinod Sharma, Muhammad Saqib,Toheeb Margay, Amjid Malik, and Azhar Mehmood were among active participants and organizers, the statement said.
President AJKSU Tajamul Imran said while addressing the gathering said , “We will continue resistance against anti youth policies and will put all our efforts to fight this menace,” read a statement. Meanwhile this was first protest of AJKSU in Rajouri District. Protestors later on dispersed peacefully.
