Private school violates govt order of summer vacation

A reputed private school in summer capital Srinagar is ‘violating’ the government orders of summer vacation by announcing their own schedules of the vacation starting from Friday.
Despite the government orders of summer vacation in all government and private schools commencing from July 19 (Thursday) in Kashmir and winter zone of Jammu, Delhi Public School (DPS) Athwajan Srinagar here have scheduled the vacation for Lower Kindergarten (LKG) and Upper Kindergarten (UKG) classes from July 11.
The parents said that they got a mail from the school authorities which reads, “This is to inform you that summer vacation for LKG and UKG will be from 11th July 2018 till 22 July 2018. The school will re-open on 23 July 2018.”
Director of Schools Education Kashmir GN Itoo said, “DSEK have issued a circular and have warned those schools of strict actions against those who will violate the government norms.”
He said, “I did not receive any message, but regarding the reports of the schedule of summer vacation by some schools, I issued a circular that if they violate the rules they have to face the action.”
“Whichever school is functioning in the valley have to follow the rules and regulations of state government,” Itoo added.
Joint Director of School Education, Abid Hussain said, “The information which Rising Kashmir has gathered is wrong.”
One of the officials of DPS Athwajan who wished to remain anonymous said, “The summer vacation in DPS has started from July13-24.”
He said, “Our curriculum and reorganization is governed by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the academics is also governed by CBSE, We have to follow the academic calendar of CBSE.”
