38 education websites out of 153 white listed
The government has not ‘white-listed’ any scholarship website for students of Jammu and Kashmir following the announcement of restoration of 2G postpaid internet services in which 153 white-listed websites have been included by the authorities.
According to the government order, 38 educational websites were declared as white-listed that can be accessed via 2G postpaid internet services in two districts of Kashmir Valley and ten districts of Jammu division.
However, the authorities in the order have not mentioned about the main websites of Jammu and Kashmir that includes, J&K Scholarships through All India Council for Technical Education Prime Ministers Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) (https://www.aicte-jk-scholarship-gov.in/).
Officials at DSEK told Rising Kashmir that there are around 15 scholarship schemes for the students of JK that are supposed to be filled online via different websites.
He said, “There are nearly 24 central and local scholarship schemes for the students of Jammu and Kashmir out of which nearly 15 are supposed to be filled online.”
The two districts of Valley where government on Saturday announced restoration of post-paid 2G internet services includes north Kashmir’s Bandipora and frontier district Kupwara.
Among the white-listed websites, the government has approved the access to websites of University of Kashmir (KU), Central University of Kashmir (CUK), Islamic University of Science of Technology (IUST) Awantipora, Sheri Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology (SKUAST) and University (JU).
Besides, scholarship websites, the main websites includes Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK (http://www.desk.nic.in), JK Education Website (http://www.jkeducation.gov.in),JK Higher Education website (www.jkhighereducation.nic.in), Cluster University Srinagar website (http://cusrinagar.edu.in) and Jammu and Board of School (JKBOSE) website.
According to the government order, among the total 153 websites that have been declared as whitelist includes four email services, 15 banking websites, three employment websites, 38 educational websites, 11 entertainment websites, 13 services websites, 20 travel websites, 42 utilities websites, two web services and four automobiles websites.
