Srinagar, Feb 12:

Newly appointed employees working in various departments of Kashmir Tuesday appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to revoke SRO-202 in the state.
A delegation of employees told Rising Kashmir that the employees who have been appointed under SRO-202 are being exploited under the new job policy.
Ibrahim Ali, a lecturer in the Higher Education Department said the new job policy is discrimination with them. According to him the new job policy provides them only basic pay, which is ‘injustice’ with the employees.
He said under SRO 202, the appointees for the non-gazetted posts get a consolidated monthly pay for five years.
After five years, the employees will get DA, HRA and other benefits, which is unfortunate part of the policy, he said adding that the government should revoke such clauses of the policy.
Another employee Nayeem Ahmad said that he was recently appointed in the Health Department after going through the multi-tier selection process of JKSSB.
“The biggest issue faced by SRO-202 employees is that they are entitled to annual increments only from the 6th year of the service which is in clear contravention to J&K- CSR (1956),” he said.
“Denial of the due annual increments will have a detrimental effect on their service and pension career and will lead to paying anomaly in future,” Ahmad said.
The delegation appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter and revoke SRO-202 based Job Policy as soon as possible.
